Skills gives Lucas some tough love
There’s just something fun and cute about watching Lucas’s friends looking out for him. He needed that, I think. And Skills is just amazing here, pointing out that Luke is too good to “waste his time” at the rivercourt and deserves a chance to be something more.
Karen tells off Dan
I just love Karen in Mama Bear mode. To say nothing of her absolutely hilarious line about her “pleasant and cordial side” that Dan is seeing now. If this is Karen being pleasant and cordial to Dan, I can’t wait to see her truly pissed. You go, girl.
Lucas and Nathan’s one on one game
This game was incredible. And Lucas got to be a bit of a badass. Letting the basket Nathan got by elbowing him in the jaw stand, that amazing block (and Mouth’s announcement of that block), and just how he completely dominated the game after that. And then there’s Peyton. I had to laugh at the look of relief on her face when Lucas blocked what would have been the game winning shot. So much fun.
All in all, this was a solid start to the show. The relationships between the main characters were established well. And we got our first glimpse of Leyton in the making.
