Hey there! My name is Isabella. Bella to my friends. (Or at least my online friends. My IRL peeps call me by a different name altogether.) By day (day being a relative term, since I sometimes work until 9pm) I work the customer service desk at a local grocery store. Thrilling, I know. But, it’s a great place to people watch. Not as good as when I used to work in a mall, but still pretty good. We get some regulars that are real characters. It also doesn’t usually take a whole lot of brain power, which frees my brain up to write scenes in my head while I work. So, it’s not a bad place to work if your “hobby” is a creative endeavor that you hope to someday make money at.
When I’m not selling cereal and bananas, answering phones, or explaining to customers how their rewards card works I’m either scrolling semi-aimlessly through Twitter procrastinating, playing games on my phone or tablet – also as procrastination, or… gasp(!) actually writing.
I’m currently revising my first novel. This is the umpteenth draft of said novel. We won’t discuss how long I’ve been working on it. It’s an Urban Fantasy about a vampire who is trying to protect his new girlfriend in a world going increasingly mad. Let’s just say that the fact that he’s a vampire is pretty much the least insane thing about the world he finds himself living in. I’m hoping this will be the last major revision and I’ll be getting that out to you guys soon. It’s the first in a series. I’m not entirely sure how long the series will end up being. I’m going to have some decisions to make after book two gets written.
My other current project is the first draft of a Historical Romance. Regency era, arranged marriage between a man who rather adamantly never wanted to get married and a woman who didn’t argue with her father about it because she does want children, someday. I also have plans for more Historical Romances. Two more as part of a series with this one, following my MMC’s siblings. And another unrelated one with an Enemies To Lovers, Fake Courtship story that I think will be a lot of fun.
Other planned projects include a few contemporary Romances, and possibly a few Fantasy novels.
I also write fanfiction. Mostly for Bridgerton, these days. I’m more than a little obsessed with Kate and Anthony. They own me. Though, I started out writing Hayley and Elijah from the Originals.
